Ida B. Wells-Barnett Museum

The Ida B. Wells-Barnett Museum showcases artwork of local and national renowned artists, offers cultural activities for citizens of all ages, and helps us honor our history, while celebrating our rich heritage.  the museum is ours (Holly Springs and Marshall county), and we collectively work to see that it continues to thrive and grow.

We believe that it is crucial to involve our children, youth, and young adults in this celebration; therefore, we are inviting your church to  participate in a gospel concert at the Eddie Lee Smith Multi-Purpose Building on July 14, 2018, at 10:00 a.m.  We ask that they prepare to sing two songs.

Other activities your children, youth and young adults are invited to participate in include the following:  Black Lives Matter Essay Contest showing a correlation between the struggles of Ida B. Wells-Barnett and current issues (6-12th grades), Puppet Show Highlighting the Legacy of Ida B. Wells-Barnett, Scavenger Hunt, Jeopardy Game, panting or drawing of Ida B Wells-Barnett (preschool-college ages), and Ida B. Wells Skit.

Please designate a person at your church to coordinate these events, and inform Fergenia H. Hood at 662-252-0794 or Shelia Ingram at 662-544-0903 of the events in which they will participate and the name of the designated person to whom Mrs. Hood or Mrs. Ingram should contact.

Please know that your support affords the museum an opportunity to flourish, inform, and keep its doors open to share the culture and history of our great city with its residents and new and previous tourists.
